Located in the Pyrenees mountains, Andorra ski resorts are all very similar. With lively bars and nightclubs, mountain restaurants, reputable ski schools and reliable snow fall, Andorra attracts many tourists each year.

Due to an investment into Andorra to update the ski lifts and modernise the resorts, it has attracted younger clientele. Andorra can offer something for everyone, its an excellent choice for beginners, intermediates, families, couples and groups. All the resorts are within close vicinity and some resorts linked together so you can sample the different slopes and apres ski.

The resort Andorra La Vella is a small resort with quality hotels. The hotels are located within walking distance from the center of the town, so no bus rides or taxis needed. One main attraction of the resort is Caldea Spa, the indoor and outdoor pools with fountains and waterfalls simply are impressive. More facilities include saunas, hot tubs, turkish baths, hydrotherapy, sunbeds, massage or you could try the grapefruit bath. A more sophisticated resort with an array of restaurants serving fresh fish delivered daily from the coast.

The most remote resort in Andorra is Arcalis, which has a variety of terrain better than most of the resorts. Horse shoe shaped Arcalis is quiet and pretty with not many tourists. The black runs and off piste skiing is great for expert skiers and intermediate skiers are more than catered for.

Pal and Arinsal were two resorts linked together in 2000, which has proved to have increased the appeal to visitors. Pal has escaped the renovations and development projects, leaving it a quiet, picturesque mountain village with a small selection of slopes. Arinsal on the other hand has great hotels, well suited to families, beginners and early intermediates. Covering 11 miles of slopes a ski school to be proud of, ski kindergarten and non-skiing creche, either resort is a suitable choice for a family ski holiday.

Pas De La Casa and Grau Roig are another two resorts which have combined and together they have 186km of pistes. A bustling resort with the majority of accommodation located near to the slopes which makes it convenient for being able to walk everywhere. They have two areas for beginners and plenty of gentle slopes. A popular resort for snowboarding and the ski school has an excellent reputation. You can also enjoy floodlit skiing once a week in the evening.

Soldeu and El Tarter are by far together the biggest combined resort, they have a lot in common with the other resorts like the lively nightlife and ski schools. El Tarter is slightly quieter that Soldeu but that doesn’t mean there is a shortage of places to stay, far from it. Its another great resort for families and offers a wide variety of apres ski. The off piste runs are a favourite with expert skiers, however, is still good for beginners.

Aspen Ski Resorts: Tips For Choosing The Best Resort

According to the 2008 report of the National Sporting Goods Association (NSGA), 6.5 million people on an average opt for skiing as a sport on a single day. Aspen is a popular choice for a ski vacation and has been famous for its high-end clientele for years. If you too are planning a holiday here, choosing from among the various Aspen ski resorts is the first step.

Aspen Ski Resorts: Tips on Finding the Right Resort

Here are a few tips to choose the right kind of Aspen ski resort, which will make your skiing experience memorable:

1.Online review: Check out the websites of the various Aspen ski resorts that you are interested in. Through their website, you can gather information on various aspects, such as location, prices, facilities, contact information, availability of ski professionals, level of base snow and current conditions. Review each resort thoroughly and compare with the other options.

2.Your skill level: It is favorable to choose a ski resort according to your skill level in skiing. For example, if you are a beginner, you might prefer a small mountain resort. Such resorts include simple trails and large areas particularly designed for beginners. Some resorts also offer lessons for beginners, which might be included in the total costs. If you are an advanced skier, look for a resort with high mountain slopes and exciting terrain to exploit your skiing skills. Most ski resorts in Aspen include trails for beginners, intermediates as well as advanced skiers.

3.Children friendly: If you are going on a holiday with your family and kids, choose a resort that is family focused. These resorts offer simplified skiing trails as well as day care programs for kids.

4.Online purchase of tickets: When you finish selecting a ski resort, find out if you can purchase tickets in advance. Since you can get discounts on advance booking, it is not only a convenient option but also a cost effective one.

5.Weekday planning: Try to avoid weekend trips if you are a beginner in skiing or are going to Aspen with your family. This will save you from the weekend crowds and you are likely to save more on the ticket prices as well.
